Here are the highlights from the November 16 board meeting: Nancy Lucas, the senate vice-chair, attended as a guest to make a presentation on the Student Academic Integrity policy and procedure that were issued August of 2016.
The board appointed the president of the Capilano Students’ Union as the back-up Student Liaison Officer, and appointed the vice-president of university relations & services as the alternative back-up, in the case that the titles of president and vice-president of internal development are held by the same person.
The planning tools for the student housing demonstration and an appreciation event being held in honour of various CSU staff members, volunteers and club leaders were approved, with $1,500 being released from various budget line items to fund the appreciation event. The board also amended the planning tool for the student union building consultation, as well as approving an increase in the budget for the building from $16,800 to $20,000. There will be a Student Union Building Town Hall held on January 12, 2017 from 11:30am to 1:00pm in the CSU Members’ Centre (LB 195). Students are encouraged to come out, provide input on what a future student union building could look like, and enjoy a free lunch!
