BUSINESS & PROFESSIONAL STUDIES FEE CORRECTION
In spring 2018, students registered in programs in the Faculty of Business and Professional Studies voted in favour of the collection of a new business and professional associations fee of $1.99 per credit, on all credit courses taken by those students. This fee was proposed and approved to provide more support and resources for student groups organized within that faculty.
Unfortunately, an error was made in the collection process that resulted in charges being incorrectly applied to some students in a way that was not approved at referendum. Students outside of the Faculty of Business and Professional Studies have been assessed this fee on courses operated by the Faculty of Business and Professional Studies (including BADM, BMKT, and CMNS courses).
We’re sorry that this happened – we are working with the university to confirm whether the system will be able to administer this fee in the manner in which it was intended moving forward.
In the meantime, if you believe you’ve been incorrectly charged the business and professional associations fee for either or both of the fall 2018 or spring 2019 semesters, please visit the CSU Members Centre (LB195) during business hours starting January 2 (click here to view) to apply for a fee correction. Remember to bring a printout of your student account for each semester for which you are applying for a correction.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. If you have any questions or concerns about this notice, please do not hesitate to reach out to CSU president Anna-Elaine Rempel (email@example.com) or CSU executive director Christopher Girodat (firstname.lastname@example.org). We’re here to help.
