That’s where the CSU comes in to provide a number of free or discounted items to support our members during their educational endeavours.

Find more information below on items that the CSU has available to purchase, give aways, as well as other student discounts in the community and start saving today!

The CSU sells a number of items at discounted rates, including:

Free stuff & give aways

The CSU also provides number of free services including:

Condoms, lube, & more Free Stay safe and take some sexual health supplies. Condoms, lube, dental dams, feminine condoms, latex free, etc.
Feminine hygiene products Free Available for those unexpected situations. Tampons, pads, and pantyliners are provided.
Charging station Free Charge your electronics safely with our locking system
Legal clinic referral Free Sign up for a 30 minute session to get legal advice through Access Justice pro bono legal clinics
Quest Food Exchange referral Free Stop by the CSU desk to sign up as a member for Quest Food Exchange. This non-profit grocery retailer can save you up to 2/3 off your grocery bill!
Phones Free Phones are set-up around campus for local calls. Outside the Tree House (LB 131), in the Maple lounge (MA 115), and behind Tim Horton’s (Birch Cafeteria)
Battery recycling Free Recycling bins are set-up in the CSU lounges
Filtered water Free Hot & cold filtered water is available in the CSU lounges
Bike repair supplies Free Bike pump, chain oil, repair instructions, tools, etc.

Income tax filing

File your taxes for free, or find support with preparing your taxes. More information below:

You must be a resident of Canada, have tuition fees and have attended school for at least one month during the tax year being prepared. You must also be designated as the FAMILY HEAD (the primary member of the family) for purposes of your tax file in UFile. UFile: All students receive FREE tax filing through UFile

Simple Tax: A FREE program that files online. There are no income limits or restrictions and you can pay what you want, including zero. Easy to use and a clean interface. They also offer comprehensive and clear tutorial videos.

Turbo Tax: Turbo Tax offers a FREE simple online tax filing option. This is ideal for students, there is no income limit and is available for download on their website.
UBC Tax Assistance Clinic for Students: Although not online the UBC Tax Assistance Clinic for Students prepares income tax returns according to the Canada Revenue Agency’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program’s eligibility policy. The CVITP assists eligible taxpayers who have low income, simple, and non-complex tax situations.
