Here are the highlights from the June 29 meeting of the CSU board of directors.


Student-at-large positions were appointed for the events and outreach committee and services committee. A draft of the campus smoking policy was presented to the board for approval. The policy highlights a significant reduction of smoking areas on campus. The board amended much of the policy but the main motion failed. Plans including budgeting for the Re-Cap, Captivate and Social Advocacy Faire events in September were approved.


Delegates were confirmed to attend the student union development summit as well as the canadian alliance of student associations policy and strategy conference. A special committee was established to fill the vacant collective liaison positions. A schedule of democratic events for the 2018/2019 academic year was approved.
