CSU Whistler Trip Giveaway: Official Contest Rules

1. Sponsor: The “Whistler Trip Giveaway” (the “Contest”) is sponsored by the Capilano Students’ Union (CSU), located at Capilano University, North Vancouver, BC.

2. Eligibility: This Contest is open only to current students of Capilano University who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. No current members of the CSU Board of Directors or CSU staff are eligible to enter or win. Proof of student enrolment (Student ID) will be required to claim the prize.

3. Contest Period: Entries will be accepted starting at the time of the Instagram post on January 8 and ending January 22, 2026, at 11:59am Vancouver time.

4. How to Enter

  1. Follow @capstudentunion on Instagram.
  2. Like the official giveaway post.
  3. Tag a friend in the comments of the post (1 tag = 1 entry).

No purchase or payment of any kind is required to enter or win this contest. A purchase of a Whistler Trip ticket will not increase your chances of winning.

5. Prize: The Winner will receive one (1) ticket to the CSU Whistler Trip (valued at over $1,250 CAD). The prize includes:

  • round-trip transportation from CapU North Vancouver campus

  • two nights of accommodation (double occupancy)

  • Friday night dinner and snow tubing session

  • access to a Saturday social event

Note: Meals (other than Friday dinner) and lift ticket upgrades are not included. The prize is non-transferable and has no cash value.

6. Winner Selection and Notification:

  • One (1) winner will be selected via random drawing from all eligible entries.

  • The winner will be announced and contacted via Instagram Direct Message on January 23, 2026.

  • Skill-Testing Question: To be declared the winner, the selected entrant must correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question without assistance.

  • Claiming Prize: The winner must respond to the CSU within 24 hours of notification. If the winner does not respond, a new winner will be drawn.

7. Refund Policy: If the winner has already purchased a ticket for the trip, a full refund of the $350 ticket price (excluding Eventbrite fees) will be issued upon verification of their winning entry.

8. Publicity: By entering, you agree to allow the CSU to use your name or Instagram handle for promotional purposes regarding this contest.

9. Release of Instagram: This contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram. By entering, you confirm a complete release of Instagram from any and all liability.
