Semi-annual General Meeting

The communications coordinator is the primary contact person for anything relating to general meetings. Get in touch with them to discuss petitions, special and ordinary resolutions, and any other related matters.

Submitting proposals to a general meeting

If you would like to submit a petition to add an item to the meeting agenda, you must submit a physical copy of the Petition for a General Meeting Agenda Item with the details of your proposal at least 21 days before the general meeting at which it is to be considered. Most proposals require the signatures of at least 100 members.

Please note that petitions received now are being considered for the general meeting on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING OVERVIEW

The next general meeting is on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 11:30am. All members of the Capilano Students’ Union (all students who are registered in courses and who have paid student society fees in the current or previous semester) have the right to attend and vote at general meetings to provide direction to the students’ union.

Supporting and background documents (such as background documents and reports) will be posted on our website closer to the general meeting date. Special resolutions will be available here and for pick-up at CSU Member Services by 12:30pm on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026.

    A brief explanation of Robert’s Rules of Order, the procedures by which the Capilano Students’ Union conducts its meetings.
