The CSU Engagement Award was established in 2015 to support students who are engaged in their communities and have demonstrated leadership and commitment to social justice. The CSU Equity Leadership Award was established in 2021 to support students who are leading efforts toward equity and diversity in the Capilano University community. CSU Support Funds
The CSU has various support funds that provide emergency funding for any student who experiences financial hardship in paying for neccessary expenses such as food, shelter, and textbooks. Student loans are available publicly and privately. Community Cupboard is a CSU-run program that supports students with immediate food assistance by providing free food to directly to students. The program also offers grocery store gift cards to those who require further assistance.

Quest Food Exchange partners with local wholesalers, supermarkets, and farmers to provide food at a reduced cost. you must be a member to access it, but the CSU can issue referrals to join.

Community Closet is a free store that provides clothing and household items to students in need at Capilano University. The store is dedicated to reducing waste and making a positive impact on the environment. Students can visit the store for clothing and household items at no cost. Reboot is a program run by the CSU that refurbishes donated personal electronic devices and gives them to students in need at Capilano University. If you are a student in need of a device for your studies, you can apply for one online.
